Sprite Sheet to GIF
Upload a sprite sheet, choose its grid, and get an animated GIF. Works with pixel art and with sheets made by AI image tools.
How to convert a sprite sheet
- 1
Upload the sheet
Use a PNG if you can, so any transparency is preserved.
- 2
Choose the grid
Pick 2×2, 3×3 or 4×4. Frames play left to right, top to bottom.
- 3
Set speed and export
Choose 8, 12, 16 or 24 frames per second, transparency and looping, then download.
Turning an AI sprite sheet into a real animation
AI image tools can draw a grid of poses in a single picture, but a grid is not an animation. Splitting it into frames by hand is tedious, so this tool cuts the sheet into equal cells and plays them in order.
Pixel art often looks best at 8 to 12 frames per second. If a character jitters between frames, the cells are not evenly aligned in the source image, and regenerating the sheet usually helps more than changing the settings.

FAQ
- How do I convert a sprite sheet to a GIF?
- Upload the image above, choose the grid that matches your sheet, check the preview, and choose Download GIF.
- Does it support transparent backgrounds?
- Yes. If your sheet is a PNG with transparency, keep Transparent background on. GIF supports only fully clear or fully solid pixels, so soft edges become slightly harder.
- My sheet is not 2×2, 3×3 or 4×4. What can I do?
- These three square grids are supported today. For other layouts, cut the frames yourself, then select all the images at once and they will play in filename order.
- Is my sprite sheet uploaded?
- No. The GIF is drawn and encoded by your browser, so your image is never sent to our servers. If you accepted analytics, we only record that a GIF was made, not the image.
- Is it free?
- Yes. There is no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on how many GIFs you make, because all the work happens on your own device.
