Every custom cat uses Mochi’s movements and interaction template and is made by our team, not by an automatic generator: we create the frames with AI tools and review every one ourselves. You confirm the look; we do the hard part.

Confirm the three-view sheet
Add your free sheet to the order and choose from your saved sheets. Lock one on the website; unused generations expire. We automatically email your selected sheet as an attachment from custom@desktopcat.com.
Reply to approve production
We produce idle, walk, sleep, petting, drag, fall and 22 more states following our official SOP, reviewing every frame ourselves. Delivered within 72 hours after we receive your email agreement to start production.
Download & import
We deliver the finished pack by email and display it under My custom cats in your account. Download the .desktopcat file and import it in DesktopCat via Settings → Characters → Import. Your cat appears instantly.

Photo tips for best results
The better your photos, the more accurate the concept sheet. Upload 1–5 photos in your paid order; multiple angles are recommended.

Your photos are processed by AI — we use the GPT Image 2 image generation model to create concept sheets, and may use video generation models in the production process. If your photo contains people or home environments, crop them out before sending it.

Is a custom cat right for you?
A good fit if
- You want your own cat’s face, coat and markings on your desktop, drawn in the same soft, lightly chibi style as our official characters.
- You’re happy with Mochi’s movements and interactions. Your cat walks, sleeps and responds to petting the way Mochi does.
- You’re making one cat per order. All photos should show the same cat, so two cats means two orders.
- You can wait for our team to do the work. Delivery is within 72 hours of your email agreement, not instant.
Common photo problems
- Blurry or dark photo: features lost to blur or shadow are hard to keep. Add a clearer shot if you have one, because several photos let the preview draw on the clearest view of each feature.
- More than one cat in the picture: crop down to the cat you want made. Each sheet shows a single cat.
- Only one photo: that is enough to start, and two of the examples above use just one. Extra angles help with markings a single shot can’t show.
- Preview doesn’t look right: use another generation if you have one left. After ordering, you can also email your photos and order number and our team will prepare the sheet. You can request a full refund any time before you agree to production by email.
Custom cat, Mochi or an official cat
- Mochi is free, comes with DesktopCat and needs no account.
- The official cat pass is US$4.90 one-time for our paid official cats. No photos needed.
- A custom cat is US$69 one-time for a character made from your own cat’s photos.
- All of them have the same 28 action states. A custom cat differs in how it looks, not in what it can do.
Refund policy
Before you agree to production by email: Full refund on request. The cost of any concept sheets already generated is on us.
After you agree to production by email: No refunds. Production starts when we receive your explicit email agreement. We still refund duplicate charges, an order we fail to deliver, and anything required by law.
